First Garden Post!

I have been thinking about starting a blog, about the garden. This is the second Year we have done the garden. It is here on my property and makes for great veggies. Lets start with a little history. This all started because a Friend of mine came to me and asked if he could grow some corn (first year did not turn up much corn.) Well him wanting corn turned in to me wanting some peppers and mom wanting butter nut squash(read about that one later in the story) to someone wanting tomatos to someone wanting beans and potatoes. So our small garden ended up being cramed in to a 60ft by 100ft garden. So after first year of trying to start seeds. That did not go well. I kept like 3 pepper plants. out of 2 trays of plants. I learned that It is hard to grow plants from seeds. I had to get some plants that I found at of all places a flower shop in the area. I got the tomatoes and a few more peppers for 2 for $1. After growing everything we ended up with 55 gallons of green and yellow beans, 72 butter nut squash, many peppers and tomatoes, Some cabbage, zucchini and okra, cucumbers and a few small onions.
So at this point I am sure you want to know why I have decided to do all of this work. Yes it is tons of work. We used tractors to cultivate the soil  and many many truck loads of leaves to help improve the soil. This turned out well.
now that we are caught up to current time. I have tomato, pepper, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and some herbs growing. in pots the tomatoes are trying to recover from being to wet. its been raining for the past 3 or4 weeks. The garden is ready to plant and I am hoping to try to get the plants in. we will see though. I hope if i can get the plants in the garden and spread out some they will dry out and not get sick any more. well that's a start I will get you a full list of what is going in to this years garden when I can. Note I also have hops to plant.
